Spirit was my partner in a 3 month horsemanship course, where he received his foundation training in Natural Horsemanship. He is sweet and loyal with a fun and happy personality. He enjoys getting out on the trail and has a ground covering walk and trot. On his 4th ride, I took him to the river with a group of other riders and he was excellent!
Spirit will trailer load while you sit on the trailer fender, move towards the fence to be mounted, stand patiently tied for hours, enjoys swimming across the pond (especially when it is hot!) and is a gentleman with his ground manners. You can easily open and close gates while mounted, he respects your space while being lead, will travel through mud/bog and over bridges, has a lot of experience travelling along roads and hiways and is used to dogs accompanying us on the trails.
Spirit responds well to leg pressure: sidepass, backup and go, turn on the forehand and hindquarters. You can also lead him backwards by the tail! Will drop his head for you to halter. I crack my bull whip while mounted on him. He has extensive ground work: turn on the fore and hindquarter with hand pressure, backup with pressure on the nose or chest, (will backup when you shake your finger at him), sideways, jumping barrels, onto tires, sidepass over logs.
He is a great little horse and overall a happy-go-lucky guy. Would make an enjoyable trail or pleasure mount and great for someone interested in Natural Horsemanship.
